Video marketing has quickly become one of the most effective methods to reach an audience. I’ve witnessed its exponential growth firsthand as I’ve made the transition from consumer to creator. Your audience demands content that is quickly digestible and easily relatable. This demand is evident as businesses have greatly increased their use of video marketing. Last year, 63 percent of businesses reported using video as a marketing tool, a 66 percent increase from the previous year.
Is your brand and business benefiting from the use of video? If not, the following four reasons may convince you to start.
Creating video content doesn’t take much time
Consumers constantly seek out video as a key method for getting information quickly. How quickly? According to Hubspot, 5 percent of viewers will stop watching a video after one minute and 60 percent by two minutes. Increase your impact on your audience by giving them smaller chunks of content more often. This way, you can ensure that viewers actually watch the content you deliver to them.
You get a great return on investment
Most business concerns with video center on cost. While video production is neither easy nor cheap, the investment has proven to pay off big time. An analysis by Wyzowl shows that 83 percent of businesses using video found that video was a good return on investment. Companies also noted increases in organic traffic, consumer understanding of their product or service, and overall sales. This type of user engagement could mean a big leg up against your competitors. When deciding whether or not video is worth the investment, consider the costs of not using video.
Search engines love video
Google’s recent purchase of YouTube is great news for your video marketing campaign. You’re 53 times more likely to show up on the first page of Google if you have a video embedded on your website, making SEO (search engine optimization) for your video crucial. Remember to always link back to your website to provide potential customers an opportunity to take the next step.
It gives you the ‘feels’
Simply put, if you want people to fall in love with your service or product, send them a video. It’s much easier for us to become emotionally attached to something through video. Video is an immersive experience that gives you the chance to speak directly to an audience and appeal to people on a personal level. Consumers reached through video are 39 percent more likely to share, 36 percent more likely to comment, and 56 percent more likely to “like” a video.
